Samsung helps hotel properties “cut the cord” with latest HTVs and new wireless solutions that orchestrate and enhance guest experiences

New York, New York – November 12, 2018 – Samsung Electronics America, a leader in hospitality solutions, showcased at HX 2018 its latest technologies designed to enhance in-room guest experiences and improve personal connectivity throughout hotel grounds. Showcased products include Samsung’s latest hospitality TVs — its NF690 and NF690U series — which allow property managers to centrally control and display customized content for an improved in-room experience. The company also spotlighted its new Samsung Axis ™ SDN Edge Wi-Fi solution, which delivers highly reliable, secure and personalized Wi-Fi network that keeps a guest seamlessly connected as they roam throughout an establishment.

The Samsung Booth will be open for exhibitors at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, Booth #3254, from November 11-12, 2018.

“Samsung HTVs and networking solutions embody the foundation and proficiency of our latest hotel innovations,” said Jonas Tanenbaum, Vice President of the Samsung Hospitality TV Division. “Our digital displays and collaboration tools expand our vision for creating streamlined, intuitive hotels. Integrations with properties around the globe continue to demonstrate our dedication to elevating the hotel experience for guests and property managers.”

The direct-lit LED technology within these HTVs deliver rich and bright imagery as well as crisp and sharp text visuals that combine for a top-quality viewing experience. The cost-effectiveness of direct-lit LED technology makes it possible for customers to upgrade their rooms to LED technology for a cost similar to traditional CCFL technology.

Additional features of the NF690 and NF690U series include:

  • Improved H-Browser for more streamlined operations

Enabled by Tizen, Samsung’s H Browser allows greater flexibility for content development. System integrators have the opportunity to create even smarter hospitality solutions.

  • Samsung LYNK™ REACH 4.0 content management solution

Samsung’s LYNK REACH 4.0 is a complete content management solution that accommodates coaxial, LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructures to amplify hotel management and guest service functions. LYNK REACH 4.0 enriches the guest experience with efficiency-enhancing technology that transforms the in-room display into a comprehensive digital experience.

  • Samsung LYNK HMS turns rooms into smart rooms

Samsung’s LYNK Hospitality Management Solution links smart devices and seamlessly integrates them into your management system. With LYNK HMS, guests can control lighting, drapes and room temperature, all from their Samsung TV remote. By leveraging the in-room TV, hotel staff can remotely check room occupancy, cleaning status and room security. And the Energy Management System allows real-time monitoring and remote control of heating and cooling, which can greatly reduce energy costs while also improving guest comfort.

  • 4K UHD Content Delivery for a Luxury Experience

Hoteliers can deliver the luxury experience guests expect with 3840 x 2160 UHD resolution of the NF690U series. Offering four times the pixels of Full HD, it displays content in lifelike detail.

New Samsung Wireless Solution Helps Hotel ‘Go Cordless’

Samsung also announced its deployment of hospitality TV and networking solutions to RevisnTM, a boutique hotel with luxury executive residences based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Samsung will provide Revisn and its 110 long-term guests with its new Samsung Axis wireless solution, which seamlessly integrates the network to Revisn’s Property Management System, while driving guest traffic over an unlicensed wireless network, safely and securely.

This lets Revisn provide a fully-connected wireless experience for guests, not only for Internet access, but also for better control over their in-room devices, including smart phones, tablets, speakers, 43 and 50-inch Samsung HTV sets (with streamed and screen casted content), and a Virtual Digital Assistant (VDA).

Samsung Axis also provides secure wireless beyond hotel rooms, supporting a Revisn guest throughout hotel grounds. Using a Samsung Software Defined Network (SDN) Gateway, it enables hoteliers to micro-segment their network, providing each guest with a personal ‘bubble’ of Wi-Fi connectivity that travels with them from the hotel restaurant, to the pool, and back to their room without dropping the connection.

“We set out to orchestrate a range of technologies, which included Samsung solutions with state-of-the-art wireless network and televisions,” said Dicky Walia, CEO and Managing Director of Welcome Holdings. “Our deployment is fully integrated to enhance the guest experience, which includes ensuring seamless connectivity in a “mobile first” world. This represents the latest innovation for hospitality establishments, optimizing entertainment and guest management via wireless.”

Added Mr. Walia, “The Samsung Axis solution will deliver entertainment content and guest information wirelessly to Revisn’s guests via “cordless TVs”, increasing network efficiency, and laying a technology foundation for further innovation in guest service.”

Beyond hospitality establishments, Samsung Axis is also an ideal wireless network solution for multi-room facilities, such as apartment complexes and education institutions.

Samsung Flip at HX 2018

Also on display at the booth will be the Samsung Flip, a digital flipchart designed to increase productivity, foster greater collaboration and enable a simple exchange of ideas through an intuitive user experience. The Flip gives users the smooth and familiar feel of traditional writing in a versatile digital format, with a variety of colors, styles and widths available. Up to four people can write simultaneously, furthering the productivity potential. Through broad connectivity, teams can share and make notations within a variety of content files, all maintained at optimal visual quality. The Flip’s navigation provides an intuitive, user-friendly menu that simplifies navigation and reduces the time required to access controls or view content in its entirety.
